Michelle Garner Dixon Cronk, 63, was born March 31, 1953 in Big Springs, TX, and passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 in Memphis, TN, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 31 at First Baptist Church, 200 East Parkway North, Memphis, TN, with interment at 2:45 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, January 30 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.

Dr. Michelle Dixon Cronk was a graduate of both Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where she received her doctorate in music.

Michelle served as a college professor, first at Missouri Baptist, Saint Louis, MO, and later at Creighton College, Memphis, TN. However, Michelle's greatest teaching experiences came from homeschooling her two daughters for over fifteen years.

Michelle has served in many churches as a church organist or pianist during the past 40 years, serving for the past 26 years as the organist at First Baptist Church, Memphis.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, John L. "Pete" Dixon and Margot Dorroh Dixon.

Michelle is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jim Cronk of Cordova, TN; her daughters, Lydia Michelle Cronk and Margot Weslee Cronk; her sister and husband, Licia and Joe Albert of Harrisonburg, VA; her sister-in-law and husband, Connie and Richard Rouse of Cape Coral, FL; her brother-in-law and wife, Stan and Johnna Cronk of Ruston, LA; her nieces and nephews, Jonathan Albert of Harrisonburg, VA, Leah Albert of Harrisonburg, VA, Michael and Lauren Albert of Durham, NC, Alisha Sackett of Edmond, OK, and Brant Rouse of San Ramon, CA; and great-niece Ellie Albert of Durham, NC. Michelle is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and many close and dear friends.

Michelle greatly loved her Lord Jesus Christ, whom she received as her Lord and Savior as a 5 year old girl, and she is with Him now.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Bible Study Fellowship International, The Michelle Dixon Cronk Keyboard Scholarship at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, or First Baptist Church, Memphis, TN.
