Mona Day Elliott Obituary
Mona Day Elliott

West Memphis, AR

Mona Day Elliott, 60, of West Memphis passed away on July 31, 2017 in Destin, Florida.

Mona went to Arkansas State University and East Arkansas Community College and spent her career as a registered nurse. Mona had a huge heart and dedicated her life to caring for others, whether it was her for family members, her patients, or her beloved dogs. She never met a stranger, and you could always count on her to entertain friends, acquaintances, and passersby alike with her many crazy stories.

Two of Mona's favorite things were Guns N' Roses and the beach. She dreamed of retiring and moving by the ocean. She passed away of natural causes on a beautiful day in sunny Destin, swimming happily in the ocean.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents, James Vincent Elliott, Jr. and Claudia Williams Elliott, both of West Memphis, Arkansas and Schlater, Mississippi.

Mona is survived by two sisters: Sandra Elliott Teigland of Holly Springs, Mississippi and Lauren Elliott Wilson (David) of Houston, Texas; one brother: James Vincent Elliott, III (Marney) of East Hampton, Connecticut; two nieces: Sydney Teigland Nation (Billy) of Memphis, Tennessee and Eleanor Mae Wilson of Houston, Texas; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Roller Citizens Funeral Home on August 5 from 3 to 6 p.m. A small burial ceremony will be held at McNutt Cemetery in Schlater, Mississippi on August 6 at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor may be made to the West Memphis Animal Shelter. Online guestbook at
