Morris Ivan Koeppel lost his battle with cancer February 11, 2017. Born December 18, 1935 in Kewanee, MO to Ivan Benjamin Koeppel and Virginia Iva Schuerenberg Koeppel who preceded him in death, he graduated from Ritenour High School in St Louis, MO and the following day moved to Memphis with his family where he attended Memphis State University and was employed by the Kroger Company. He joined the U.S. Army in 1958 and was stationed at Camp Drum, MD. He returned to Memphis in 1960 and served in the active Army Reserves until 1964.

He was employed in sales for Malone & Hyde Wholesale Grocers and later as a buyer. He left the grocery business to go back into sales in the X-Ray field with Litton Industries and later with Profexray where he remained until his retirement in 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Walker Koeppel, a daughter, Kathryn Koeppel Boyuka (John) of Memphis and Dallas, and two sons, David Koeppel (Stephanie) of Arlington, and Bradley Koeppel of Atlanta. He also leaves a sister, Suzanne Koeppel Kennedy (Frank) of Memphis, and a brother, Paul Koeppel (Sherrie) of North Carolina.

Morris was extremely proud of his four grandchildren and their accomplishments. Jennifer Singleton (Keegan) is a teacher in the Oxford school system in Anniston, AL, Jessica Boyuka, is a nurse with the Methodist-LeBonheur Health System in Memphis, Shelby Boyuka, is a student at the University of Memphis and Daniel Koeppel, is a student at University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

On January 4, Morris and Judy celebrated 56 years of marriage and were elated when on that same day granddaughter Jennifer and her husband, Keegan, presented them with their first great-grandchildren, twins, Lillian and Logan Singleton. Morris also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather on Monday, February 13 from five o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening and funeral services will be on Tuesday, February 14 beginning at one o'clock in the afternoon all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue.
