Nancy H. Bolton Obituary
Nancy H. Bolton

Memphis, TN

Nancy Heckle Bolton, age 81, went home to be with God, January 16, 2017. Nancy was born May 10, 1935 in Memphis, TN. Her parents were William and Jewel Atkins.

She was a devoted mother to Bruce Bolton, Brenda Griffin and Chuck Bolton. Nancy was also a loving grandmother to John Nelson Bolton, Lee Carter Bolton, Hunter Griffin, Morgan Ricks, Justin E. Bolton, Margaux Bartosch, and Candace Bolton. She leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Taylor Wade Ricks, Porter Cash Ricks, Cort Griffin, and the youngest, Colette Wren Bartosch.

Nancy was a devoted member of First Evangelical Church and was richly blessed by her participation in the "Encounters" Sunday school class. She spent countless hours studying the Christian faith. She was an avid reader and art student. She found joy painting with watercolors and loved sharing these paintings with friends and family.

Some of her grandchildren acquired a great love for nature and flowers, particularly roses, from Nancy. She taught them that it was good to "stop and smell the roses." She was a simple and gracious woman. Her gift of contentment and grace was remarkable.

Nancy was an amazingly devoted friend. She spent her last days surrounded by friends that she had cherished since grade school. Lastly, Nancy received the most amazing care from the nurses and caretakers at Baptist Hospice. They brought her comfort and joy and she would want us to say "thank you" again.

All services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017. A burial with close friends and family will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held at First Evangelical Church at 11 a.m. and a memorial service at 12 p.m. A reception will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to First Evangelical Church or to West Clinic.
