Pat Walker, of Memphis, TN, died in his home on February 14, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Barney Walker, Sr. and Norma Mayfield Walker; and two of his sisters, Virginia Walker Masson and Justine Walker Richardson.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sadler Walker; son, Jon Walker (Evelyn); daughter, Cindy Walker Brown (Don); three grandchildren, Taylor Brown, Lauren Byrd (Austin), and Mac Walker; sister, Valda Miller; brother, Barney Walker, Jr. (Judy); and several nieces and nephews.

Pat was born in Greenville, MS on January 9, 1932. He was a graduate of Central High in Jackson, Mississippi and attended Mississippi College. Pat was best known for his incredible tenor voice. In 1952, he sang "Seek Ye the Lord" with the choir at Second Presbyterian Church for the opening of the new sanctuary. He and his bride, Dorothy, were married at Second in April 1954. He won first place twice on the Ted Mack and the Original Amateur Hour in 1956. Pat played in numerous productions at Front Street Theater including The Student Prince and Brigadoon. After retiring from Bausch and Lomb in 1980, he sold Ray Ban sunglasses for a number of years.

Pat was not only known for his beautiful voice on the theatrical stage and in church, but for his humorous take on life. He could find joy and laughter in most situations which endeared him to all. His enthusiasm for nature was instilled in his children and grandchildren. Pat enjoyed fishing (especially at the beach) and bird watching. An admirer of nature, Pat found beauty and glory in every creature and flower. "Dede", as he was affectionately called, adored and loved his grandchildren and relished every one of their accomplishments.

Visitation will be held at Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. A private family burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made to the Chapel Class of Second Presbyterian Church or .
