Patti Radford Ozier Obituary
Patti Radford Ozier

Memphis, TN

Patti Radford Ozier went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 while at the Brookdale Jackson Oaks. Patti was the firstborn daughter of Berta Brown and Charles Knight Radford, born in Santa Monica, California on January 6, 1923. She is survived by her sisters, Marjorie Radford Andrews of Memphis, Tennessee, and Bertha Radford Laney (Dr. James) of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, C. Whitney Oozier.

Patti was a graduate of Central High School and attended Southwestern Memphis where she was a Chi Omega. Years later, she graduated with a teaching degree at the University of Memphis and taught Math at Germantown High School.

Patti was a faithful member of First Evangelical Church and a part of Bible Study Fellowship when it first started in Memphis. She participated in Bible studies all the years of her life.

She enjoyed her friendships with Our Home and Garden Club and volunteering with the Women's Exchange of Memphis. She especially loved her Wednesday afternoon Bridge Club that became lunch only on Friday afternoons. They had yearly Destin trips in the spring that were the envy of her children. She was known for her hospitality and readily opened her home to her family and friends for any and all occasions.

She was devoted to her family and is survived by her children, Patty Ozier Riffel (Kirby) of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Calvin Whitney Ozier, Jr. (Brenda) of Memphis, Tennessee, and Peggy Ozier Shaw (John) of Jackson, Tennessee, nine grandchildren; Dottie Riffel Highfill (Wes) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jim Riffel of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Tom Riffel (Brittney) of Pocahontas, Arkansas, John Ozier (Emily) of Memphis, Tennessee, David Ozier (Lindsey) of Memphis, Tennessee and Rebecca Ozier Griffith (Ben) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, John Lyle Shaw (Sara) of Memphis, Tennessee, William Shaw (Hannah) of Jackson, Tennessee, and Calvin Shaw (Morgan) of Jackson, Tennessee, and 20 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, First Evangelical Church Missions Fund and Young Life of Memphis were lifelong ministries she supported.

Services will be held at First Evangelical Church 735 Ridge Lake Blvd. Memphis, TN 38120 on Tuesday, September 19. Visitation is at 1 p.m. and a Memorial Service at 2 p.m.
