Paula Newton Brown, 85, passed away after a long illness on July 27, 2017, in the Village at Germantown healthcare facility. She was born in Memphis as the daughter of George Newton and Pauline Barton Newton and had one brother, George Newton, Jr. all of whom are deceased. She graduated from Miss Hutchinson's school in Memphis and attended Ole Miss for two years before marrying Norman Brown, Jr., her husband for 65 years who survives her. They had one son, Norman Brown III (Gina) and two daughters, Hardin Brown and Paula Chapman (Jim). She also leaves four grandchildren, Byron Norman Brown IV (Jennifer), Todd Chapman (Brennan), Clay Chapman (Keri), Brandon Krell, and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown since 1961. Paula was very talented in art work. She produced many works in pencil, water-color, oil, and clay. These were given to friends and family and sold through several art galleries in which she partnered with other artists such as Madison Avenue Gallery and Fountain Square Gallery. Private graveside services for the family will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations in her memory will be appreciated at the Church Health Center, P. O. Box 41527, Memphis, TN 38174.
