Philip Crandall Chamberlain, Sr., 87, passed away August 30, 2017. He was an Eagle Scout, a veteran of the United States Navy and had retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller. A lifelong member of the National Rifle Association, he loved camping, hunting, boating and fishing and was an avid and talented wood worker and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Chamberlain served as Scout Master of Troop 143, Jonesboro, GA where he shared his love of the outdoors with the young scouts that he taught and mentored, he was also an active member of First Christian Church in Avon Park, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Crandall Ivan Chamberlain and Hannan Bernice Diefendorf Chamberlain; great grandson, Garrett Ivan Chamberlain, sister, Miriam Beth Gifford and a brother, Dr. Bruce E. Chamberlain.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Barbara (Bobbe) J. Chamberlain; daughter, Valerie (Mike) Morgan, son, Philip C. (Trina) Chamberlain II; grand-children, Philip C. (Jessica) Chamberlain III, William Ivan (Kyndal) Chamberlain, Abigail (Clint) Hall and Justin (Samantha) Jaynes; great-grandchildren, Allie-Kate Hall, Philip C. Chamberlain, IV, Emma Chamberlain, Jake Hall, Caleb Chamberlain, Nash Chamberlain and Jett Chamberlain.

The family will receive friends on Saturday September 2, 2017 from 4:30- 5:30 p.m., with a memorial service conducted at 5:30 p.m., all in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133.
