Robert Joseph Viktor, 84, of Gilbert, AZ left his earthly body at 8:55 a.m. at Lund Hospice House in Gilbert, AZ on April 11, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on October 19, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Godfrey(Prague, Czechoslovakia) and Libbie Sindelar Viktor(Cedar Rapids, IA). After graduating from East High School in Des Moines, IA, he entered the military and retired from the United States Navy as a Petty Officer First Class after thirteen years of honorable service. He served on many ships and held positions of responsibility that required supervision of subordinate personnel and the handling of highly sensitive and classified material. One of the high points in his career was his two year assignment to the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean, where he took his young family to live in Villefranche-sur-mer on the French Riviera. The middle part of Bob's years were spent in Valley View, TX where he was very involved in the community and owned a Hallmark store.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Beverly Mittendorf Viktor; daughters Patricia Viktor Curlee(Steve) of Franklin, TN and Teresa Viktor Tilley(Larry) of Byhalia, MS; grandchildren David Viktor Williamson(Amber), Katherine Curlee Hamblen(Brian), Jennifer Ashcraft-Hays(Brian), Matthew Douglas Curlee, Kay Tuan Schnulo, Tien Jin Schnulo, and Jyn Mei Schnulo; great grandchildren Lucas Williamson, Logan Williamson, Cade Ashcraft, Jake Ashcraft, and twins, Rowan and Oliver Hamblen. He was adored by all and involved in all of his grandchildrens lives until his death.

Memorial services in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Memphis, TN will be held at a later date. The family requests donations in Bob's name to The in lieu of flowers.
