Theodore "Ted" Peasant, a gentle, caring, and loving man of God, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017.

Theodore was born February 15, 1954 to Theodore Sr. and Minnie Hudson Peasant in Selma, Alabama. He was the oldest of eleven children. He graduated from LaSalette High School in Cheshire, Connecticut. He received his Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, where he also became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. He went on to earn his Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama.

Theodore married his college sweetheart, Wanda McMillan on August 8, 1981. The couple was blessed with two children: Courtney Janae and Evan Theodore Peasant. He was an amazing and loving husband, father, and friend.

Theodore was employed by The Department of Veteran Affairs where he worked at the VA Medical Center in Memphis for 29 years. During his career at the Medical Center, he provided social work services in several different areas and treatment programs. Most recently, he worked as a Case Manager to provide housing support and other professional services to Veterans. He had a passion for helping Veterans, always striving to provide excellent service with compassion.

Theodore was a member of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church where he served faithfully as an Elder and Diaconate. He had a servant's heart and a love for people which he exemplified in his everyday life.

Theodore leaves a legacy and memories that will be cherished by his wife Wanda, two children Courtney and Evan, family, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, June 2 from 5-7 p.m. at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 3 at 11 a.m. also at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods.
