Theresa Baldi Hyde

Overland Park, KS - Theresa Baldi Hyde, 65, of Overland Park, Kansas lost her battle with cancer on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at home. Theresa was born November 22, 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee to Ralph Baldi Sr. and Rosanna (Robilio) Baldi. Theresa was a graduate from Memphis State University and lifelong tiger fan. She married Dwight Hyde on February 14, 1991. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 25 years. She is survived by her children: Natalie Giannakis and her husband Dimitris of Olathe, KS, Sarah Hyde Ginther and her husband Brock of Kansas City, MO, and Jacob Hyde and his wife Felicity of Olathe, KS; one brother: Ralph Baldi, Jr. of Memphis, TN, three sisters: Margaret Baldi Carter (Patrick) of St. Charles, MO, Gina Baldi Mabry (Kenneth) of Cordova, TN, Lynne Baldi Pennington (Curtis) of Byhalia, MS; five grandchildren, Sav Rodgers (Riley), Casey Johnston, Regan Johnston, Jack Rader and Clementine Hyde; eight nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Theresa was deeply committed to family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a fierce supporter at sporting events. Granny was always available for a ride, a game, a film festival, a play, math homework and birthday parties.

Theresa also leaves behind a legacy of working to better the lives of all around her. She was a tireless campaign worker, dedicated to enrolling new voters, and always the first to volunteer for a protest. Her fighting spirit and dedication to local, state and national politics will be missed.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday May 22, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Cancer Research Institute.

I am saddened to learn about the passing of Theresa. She was a long time friend with a sense of humor I truly enjoyed. When Dwight and Theresa were together their relationship was undeniably special. God bless you Theresa, I will miss you.
