Theresa "Terry" Burns Hopper, 63, of Collierville, TN, passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2017. Born in Memphis, she was the daughter of the late James F. Burns and Elizabeth "Bettye" Land Burns. She was preceded in death by her three siblings James Francis Jr., John Kevin, Patricia Claire and her two late husbands, Tom Sawyer and Bobby Knapp.

In her life, Terry was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother; whose true heart was felt by all those who met her. Terry went to Immaculate Conception High School in Memphis, TN, and graduated from Memphis State (U of M) in Memphis, TN. Terry worked at the Memphian Theater, in the 70's and loved when Elvis Presley would rent out the theater for his personal movie showings. She worked as a salesperson for Perel & Lowenstein Jewelers and Levitt Furniture. Terry developed health issues and she retired to devote her time between her grandchildren and caring for her Mom.

Terry is survived by her husband Gary Hopper, three children, Kandi Ward, Tom (Crystal) Sawyer, and Tricia (Brian) Epperson, five grandchildren Liam and Logan Sawyer, Keller and Kannon Epperson and Alex Owen Hubber; four sisters Kathleen (Joe) Speck, Eileen Burns, Margaret (Allan) Bruch, Sheila (Eric) Lewis and a brother Kevin (Meg) Burns. Terry had many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Terry was very close to her cousins, Karen (Skip) Martin, Laura Dodds and Greg (Carol) Alexander.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 19th, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Canale Funeral Directors, 2700 Union Ave Extended, 38112, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. A mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20th, at The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 1695 Central Avenue, with an interment at a later date.
