Thomas Herbert Scott III Obituary
Thomas Herbert Scott, III

Memphis, TN

Thomas "Tip" Herbert Scott, III was born on July 26, 1989 in Memphis, TN and died from an accidental overdose on May 5, 2017 in Memphis, TN. For many years, Tip fought a battle with addiction. He was living at the Warriors Center striving to stay sober, but his disease had a powerful hold on him. We never gave up on him. He will be remembered as a bright-eyed, silly, high–energy boy who grew into an intelligent, non-judgmental young man with a huge heart. He loved his Memphis Grizzlies, Chelsea F C and anything Star Wars. He loved his family, his friends, real good music (preferably rock) and animals, especially dogs.

Tip attended Presbyterian Day School, St. George's Independent Middle School and graduated from Christian Brothers High School. He attended Life Church Memphis. He was a bartender by trade and worked in many area restaurants.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert A. Cooper and Thomas H. Scott, Sr., and his uncle, Robert Michael Cooper.

He is survived by his parents, Tommy and Quinn Scott; his two brothers, Bobby and Max Scott; his uncle and aunt, Jody and Gina Scott and his three cousins, Hayes, Anna and Sam Scott. He is also survived by his two grandmothers, Martha Ruth Cooper and Mary Evelyn Scott.

Please pray hard for an end to the epidemic of opiates.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 16 followed by a service at 12 noon in the Canale Funeral Directors Chapel, 2700 Union Extended, Memphis, TN 38112.
