Vernon Bradford King, 61, departed from this Earth on February 10, 2017. Vernon was a dedicated serviceman. Serving this country proudly for 4 years in the United States Army. After the Vietnam war, he then made the transition to the civilian sector of the United States government going on to serve an additional 31 years of civil service at the Defense Depot in Memphis, Tennessee and McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas. Vernon was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys Fan. Although it's going to be hard, his legacy will live on through his family. He's leaving 7 children (Alicia, Latesha, Vernisha (Jonathan), Nisheika, Vernon Jr, Jackeisha, Jeremy), 6 grandkids (Cara, Jonah, Makhi, Macie, Jamie, and Jordyn), a mother (Elizabeth King), 2 brothers (Curtis and Ronnie King), and a nephew (Nigell King) to cherish his memories. What a joyous time we had together while you were here, but this isn't goodbye, it's see you later because we'll meet again!!! Visitation, Friday, February 17 from 5-8 p.m. at Grace Missionary Baptist Church located at 1203 N Manassas Street, Memphis, TN 38107. Funeral Services, Saturday, February 18 at 11 a.m. at Grace Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, Tuesday, February 21 at 2 p.m. in West Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery.
