PITTSFIELD – Allan W. Donovan, of Pittsfield, 91, died peacefully Sunday, April 8, 2018.
Born Sept. 2, 1926, and raised in Springfield, he served in the U.S. Navy as Motor Machinist Mate, Third Class, at end of World War II, and then worked as self-employed logger until retirement.
He was predeceased by beloved wife Mildred Donovan, and siblings Phyllis Quinlan and Jack Donovan Jr, and is survived by brother-in-law, Jim Quinlan, niece, Paula Appell, nephews, Randy Donovan (Mary Lee), Jack Donovan (Veronica), Keith Donovan (Kathy) Alan Donovan (Andrea) and Mark Quinlan, and their children. Allan beamed when meeting his 4-week old great-grandnephew Everett this winter.
There are no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held for family.
Memorial donations may be made to Pittsfield American Legion Peterson Cram Post 75.
