BOSCAWEN – David passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, to be with his infant son, Todd David Larochelle.

 David was born in Nashua in August 1942 to Frederick W. and Emma (Nichols) Larochelle of Pepperell, Mass.

While attending Pepperell High School, he worked at Kimball Fruit Farm and decided to become an orchardist. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he earned a degree in Pomology (that's apples) from UMass. He returned to Kimball Fruit Farm to work where he met his future wife, Tina Dorst, to whom he was married over 50 years.  David then worked for Merrimack Farmers Exchange, where he managed the biggest seed company in New Hampshire. Still longing for his own orchard and after several different locations David and Tina bought a property in Boscawen. Together with the help of their son, Mike they established Apple Ridge.  The family planted a few thousand apple trees and opened a farm stand, had pick your own apples. Later renamed Apple Ridge Growers, branching out with greenhouses, selling apples, cider, vegetables and bedding plants both retail and wholesale.

David loved being a part of Boscawen, helping the town by donating plants to beautification, serving on zoning board, helping out in the church's food pantry and Interfaith Council.

David is predeceased by his parents, and infant son, Todd. He is survived by his loving wife, Bertina (Dorst) Larochelle and his beloved caring son, Michael David Larochelle; his sister, Marlene (Everett) Gale of Milford; nephews, David Frederick Gale (named after him) of Pepperell, Mass. and Douglas E. Gale of Goffstown and their families; brother-in-law, John S. (Johnna) Dorst and nephew, Kevin Dorst of Virginia.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, March 11, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Wendell Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook.

The funeral service will be Monday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Wendell Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook.

The Committal services will be Monday, March 12. at 2:30 p.m. at Pepperell Cemetery, Park Street, Pepperell, Mass.
