Christopher Goodine Obituary

WASHINGTON, Va. - Christopher A. Goodine, 67, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 at his home in Washington, Va. Born to Elwood A. and Kathleen Chase Goodine of Concord, he spent his childhood years in West Concord, attended Concord schools and was a graduate of the class of 62, after which he served three years in the U.S. Army.

He was introduced to the art of jewelry-making through the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, of which he was a member for over 40 years and became an accomplished designer and creator of fine gold and silver jewelry. In 2007 he opened his second shop which he designed himself.

Chris, and his wife Jean, were avid mountain climbers and loved spending their summers at their home in Jackson, accompanied by their boxer Max.

Chris was very proud of his ability to recognize and name the mountains of New Hampshire and would often recite some historical facts regarding them.

He is survived by his loving wife Jean of 39 years; his mother Kathleen of Concord; and his brother Brad and his wife Carol of Contoocook.

Private memorial services will be held at the family's convenience.
