Margaret ""Maggie"" Barous

Margaret "Maggie" Barous, 53, formerly of Concord, passed away July 9 at her home in Bradenton, Fla. Maggie was born in Concord and graduated in 1977 from Concord High School. She spent her early years traveling around the country, eventually settling in Florida. She worked at EL Conquistador Country Club as the maintenance director for over 16 years. She started her own painting business and took great pride in her work. She had a passion for art and saw beauty in everyday life. Maggie had a deep connection with her spiritual side. Her interests included animals, poetry,reading, sunsets, coffee, music, angels, romance and quiet times.
She leaves behind her mother, Lee VanDerJagt of Florida, father and stepmother, Nicholaos and Marianne Barous of Concord; sisters, Darlene Stone of Tennessee and Despina Ganatsios of Vancouver; and brother, John Barous. She was predeceased by a brother, Doug Wilson.
A celebration of her life will be held Oct. 19 at Bayshore Gardens Church in Bradenton. Burial will be in New Hampshire at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Maggie's name to your local animal shelter.
