Elizabeth Williams Obituary

STAFFORD – Elizabeth (Detrick) "Betti" Williams, 86, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Pleasant View Center in Concord.

She was born on Long Beach Island, N.Y. on May 26, 1928. She grew up in Jersey City, N.J. and graduated from Skidmore College, majoring in art education. She married Don Williams lasting 65 happy years. Betti had her own Art Gallery on Cape Cod for 19 years and has been painting continuously for shows, galleries and private sales ever since.

For several years Betti's paintings appeared in a program sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard showing the U.S. Coast Guard in action. She received a certificate of appreciation from the Admiral Commandant of the Coast Guard and her paintings are hanging in the Coast Guard Museum in Washington, DC.

She leaves her husband Don; three children, Raymond D. and wife, Martha Williams, Donald M. Williams Jr. and wife, Janice Leviton and Laure E. Day; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 12, at 11 a.m. at the Bow Lake Baptist Church in Strafford.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery on Cape Cod in Eastham, Mass.

Don and family, I am so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. My sympathies to you all. . Betty was such a nice woman. She loved her dogs and her family. I was her hairdresser and enjoyed our time together talking about our dogs and family.
