Audrey Waters

1925 - 2016

DOVER – Audrey Pauline (Butler) Waters, age 90, of Portsmouth New Hampshire, formerly of Newburyport and Concord, N.H., passed peacefully Monday morning, April 25, 2016 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, N.H., surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.  She was the wife of 50 years of the late Joseph V. Waters.

Born in Newburyport, June 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary A. (Chase) Butler and was a graduate of Newburyport High School, then went on to receive her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  For many years she had worked at the Anna Jaques Hospital as well as hospitals in New York and Concord, N.H.

Not only was she a dedicated nurse, she was also a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church of Portsmouth, N.H.  She traveled extensively throughout the world and loved sharing the stories of wonderful adventures with everyone.

Audrey leaves behind a daughter and three sons, Kathleen Blaisdell, James Waters of Eliot, Maine, Michael Waters and wife Kate of Dresden, Maine, and John Waters of Eliot, Maine; five grandchildren, Andrew Blaisdell, Kelly Waters, Heather Green, Hannah Waters and Abigail Waters, along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends.  She was predeceased by a son, Joseph V. Waters Jr., and two sisters, Janet Noyes of Newbury and Beverly Doyle of Newburyport.  She has left them all  memories that will continue to keep her alive in their hearts.

Visiting hours at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m.  Burial in Belleville Cemetery, Newburyport will be private.
