James Allen "Hack" Hackenbracht

WEST LAFAYETTE: James Allen "Hack" Hackenbracht, age 64, of West Lafayette, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

He was born on April 27, 1947 in Canton, Ohio. Jim was a 1965 graduate of West Lafayette High School and worked for Smurfit Stone for many years. On September 4, 1970, he married Gayle (Baird) Hackenbrackt who survives. Jim was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge #224 in Plainfield, a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodges in Coshocton, was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, but most of all, he loved spending time with his friends, family, and grandsons. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Along with his wife, Gayle, of 41 years; Jim is survived by his daughter, Gina Bergeron and fiancé, Kasey Brown of West Lafayette; two grandsons, Seth and Kyle Bergeron of West Lafayette; and many special friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Mabel and Ralph Schweitzer, who raised him; mother and father -in-law, Samuel and Virginia Baird; and brother-in-law, Tom Baird.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. with Donald Dolick officiating at Given-Dawson Funeral Home, Coshocton. Per Jim's wishes there will be no calling hours.
