NEWCOMERSTOWN: Kenneth Shaw, 69, 11353 Buckhorn Road, Newcomerstown, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Newcomerstown. Ken was born May 6, 1943 in Newcomerstown to the late Glenn and Frances (Fenton) Shaw.

He is survived by his wife, Rhea Denning Shaw, whom he married June 7, 1964; son, Kenneth Jr. (Tiffany) of Newcomerstown; daughter, Connie of Columbus; grandson and granddaughter, Lincoln and Alexis Shaw of Newcomerstown; brother, John (Betty) Shaw of Mt. Vernon; step-mother, Matilda Laing Shaw of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada; step-brother, Robert (Elaine) Laing of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada; and step-sister, Linda (Don) Smith of Cape Coral, FL.

Ken and his wife owned Shaw-Wilbert Vaults for 33 years and Shaw Pallets for 15 years until their retirement in 2007. He previously worked as a mechanical engineer for Heller Tool and Seilon. Ken was a 1961 Newcomerstown High School graduate. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, life member of Newcomerstown Lodge #1555, Port Washington Masonic Lodge #202, Royal Arch Mason-Nugen Chapter #124, Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite and Shriners International. He was a member, past director and past president of the Tuscarawas County Cattle Association, member and past director of the Buckeye Hereford Association. Ken had previously been a 4-H advisor having served on various 4-H committees. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, working with his Hereford cattle and spending time at his grandchildren's activities, especially fishing at the pond. Ken was an avid bowler for over 40 years and was a 2000 inductee into Dover/New Philadelphia Bowling Association Bowlers Hall of Fame.

Services will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Addy Funeral Home. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m.
