William Edward Hendrix Jr. entered heaven on the 14th day of March 2017, at his home in Willis, TX, at the age of 83. William was born on July 1st, 1933 in Groesbeck, Texas to William and Johnnie Hendrix.
Later in life, William moved from Groesbeck, along with his family, to Houston, TX. He served in the Army and was deployed to Korea and Japan from 1953 to 1955 earning the rank of Private First Class. After his service in the Army, William was employed by Schlumberger Well Services where he remained for 30 years until he retired from the company.
William married Virginia Camp in 1952, in Houston, TX, & they were happily married for 64 years. William was an active member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Conroe. He enjoyed fishing & hunting, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially found joy spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved greatly.
William was preceded in death by his parents William and Johnnie Hendrix and his brother Donald Hendrix.
William is survived by his wife Virginia, his two daughters and son in laws Michael and Sheri Nesbit and Robert and Linda Theiss; His brother Charles and his wife Wilma Hendrix, and sister Maxine and her husband John Huhs; His grandchildren Robert Jr. and Lauren Theiss, Kyle and Tiphany Nesbit, Kristy and Patrick Waltz, and Ryan and Macie Theiss; His great grandchildren Julie, Lily, Zoe, and Adaylyn Theiss and Kassidy Nesbit; Along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday March 17th from 5 to 7 pm at Cashner Funeral Home located at 801 Teas Road Conroe, TX. Memorial services will be held Saturday March 18th at 11 am at St. Mark's Lutheran Church located at 2100 Tickner St. Conroe, TX 77301. Lunch will provided after the memorial service. Grave side services will be held at 1:45 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery, 21434 E. Hardy Rd. Houston, Texas 77073.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
