Adelbert (Del) Clyde Underwood, was born May 14, 1926, on Hatch Hill, near New Albany, Pennsylvania. He went to be with his Lord on June 12, 2016, at the age of 90, in Conroe, Texas.

Del graduated from Wyalusing High School and served his country in the Navy from 1944 - 46. He graduated from Penn State University with an engineering degree in the new field of metallurgy. Del went to work for IBM after graduating and IBM transferred him to Texas in 1951. He proudly wore his cowboy hat from then on. Del later worked for Transco, and then had his own engineering consulting firm for over 40 years. Over the course of his career, Del became a recognized expert in the field of metallurgy. He was actively involved in starting Christian Radio KHCB for the Houston area. Del was also involved with Camp Peniel, a Christian youth camp in Marble Falls, Texas.

Del was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Weinland Underwood, his sister, Charlotte Cook and his brother, Jim Underwood of Pennsylvania. Del is survived by his wife Sally Ann (Schultz) Underwood, children Patricia (Jerry) Albrecht of Canada, Susan (Dean) Powell of Van Alstyne, Texas, Kathy (Peter) Clark of Tunisia, Africa, Steve (Jolyn) Underwood of Franklin, Tennessee, and Martha Jean Underwood of Conroe, Texas, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to KHCB radio network (khcb.org), Camp Peniel (camppeniel.org), or Christ Church of Conroe (christchurchconroe.org).
