Adele Lee Woods Rogers, age 81, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away in the early morning hours of November 16, 2015, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Adele was born October 15th, 1934, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Richard Woods and Marie Bach Woods. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1952 and received her BS from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1956. She married her beloved college sweetheart , Theodore Courtney Rogers of Amherst, Ohio , in 1957. Together they raised a son and a daughter.

Adele was a gifted artist and a devoted and cherished friend to many. She was adored for her keen intellect, quick wit , and wry sense of humor. Her close-knit circle of friends was her passion and her delight. She enjoyed traveling the world, reading, and was a life-long learner who took great pleasure in attending classes at the Women's Institute in Houston. She was an avid tennis player and until the end, she enjoyed talking politics and her weekly games of bridge and canasta.

Adele is survived by her two children: Theodore Courtney Rogers Jr. of Marietta, Georgia, and her daughter Pamela Rogers Harmon of Austin, Texas, as well as her three grandchildren whom she adored: Katherine Harmon Courage, of Longmont, Colorado, Andrew Harmon of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Adam Harmon of Boulder, Colorado, and by her beloved dog Marcie.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ginger Oakes, Adele's dear and cherished neighbor, who went above and beyond in her friendship and care of Adele in her final years. As a family we are forever grateful for the love and care Ginger bestowed upon Adele.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Austin Pets Alive in gratitude for their help in finding a safe and loving forever home for Adele's devoted companion dog Marcie.

A celebration of Adele's life will be held on Saturday, November 28 at 10:30am at Metcalf Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. Adele has requested that her ashes be scattered in the Pacific Ocean.
