Armel "Bill" Williams was born in Bullard, Texas May 23, 1923, son of Marshall Hoyle and Birtis J. Williams. His only sister whom he dearly loved, Marie Williams Faubion, died in 1973. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Pritchett Williams, children Les and Cindy Williams, Splendora, TX., Jeanne Marie and Steve Colvin, Magnolia, TX., Brandon and Robin Williams, Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren David and Jonathan Williams, Sarah Elizabeth Colvin Black, Daniel Colvin, John and Megan Colvin, Timothy Williams, Andrew and Anna Williams, great granddaughter Adelaide Williams, Nathan and Stephanie Williams and Justin Williams. Bill served in the Army Air Corps, flying B-29 bombers in the Pacific theatre WWII and also a private pilot in civilian life. He and Barbara met and fell in love while working at the Fort Worth Star Telegram newspaper. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1952. Bill was a farmer, a pilot, a home builder, a journalist. He authored "Profiles of a Country Boy", his autobiography published in 2011. Bill was a loving, faithful husband, devoted to his children and grandchildren and great grandchild, loyal to his many friends, a man of integrity and faithful member of Christ Church and the body of Christ. First and foremost, he was a son of the Living God, a constant witness of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in Whose presence he now joyfully resides. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be: Daniel Colvin, John Colvin, David Williams, Jonathan Williams, Justin Williams, Andrew Johnson and Lead Pallbearer, Steve Colvin.
