Funeral services for Alvie Jay Almand, 65, of Montgomery, Texas will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in County Line Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. (two hours prior to the service on Friday) in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors. A.J. was born on October 5, 1947 in Troup, Texas and passed away on January 7, 2013 in Montgomery, TX surrounded by his loving family. A.J. was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Almond, James Almand, Jr. and John Henry Almand and his sister, Mary Dorothy Driver. He is survived by his loving family; wife, Judy Almand; children, Jason Daniel Almand and Amber Kay Almand; siblings, Anita Johnson, Mary Almand Mutti, Arnold Almand, Claude Almand, Garland Kreger, Lonnie Kreger and Gladys Sylvester. Numerous other dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. A.J. attended Texas Tech University where he studied accounting. While living in Midland, Texas, he taught Sunday school at W. Kentucky Baptist for many years. A.J. was a longtime resident of Conroe and was retired from CISD. He was currently a member of West Conroe Baptist Church and was a man of strong Christian values who had a passion for life and a great love for his family. He was the youngest of 12 children who was also a loving son, husband, father and friend. A.J. was dearly loved and will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
