Andres Mendiola Jr., 65, of Conroe, Texas, beloved husband and devoted father passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013. He was born on October 21, 1948 in Laredo, Texas to Andres Sr. and Zulema Mendiola. He was preceded in death by his parents Andres Mendiola Sr. and Zulema Mendiola; sisters Sandra Mendiola Romero, and Rosario Mendiola Gonzalez. Andres is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Grace Mendiola; daughter Jennifer Mendiola Hooker and husband Andy; sons Andres Mendiola III and wife Brenda, Joe Mendiola and wife Donna, David Mendiola and wife Olga,, and John Michael Mendiola; grandchildren Madison Hooker, Megan Mendiola Meyers and husband Justin, Hailey Mendiola Lasker and husband Aaron, Andres Mendiola IV, Tori Mendiola, Alan Obregon, and Marissa Obregon; great-grandchildren Brantley Meyers, Adele Lasker, Terrell Lasker, and Alexis Masters; sisters Judy Davila, Sally Tedder and husband Bob, and Zulema Garza and husband Oscar; brother David Mendiola and wife Lamar and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Andres was a man of many skills and worked many years in the construction industry. He was a devoted employee of Linbeck Construction for 30 years and was a part of the industrialization of down town Houston. He was very proud of the buildings he helped construct. Andy was scheduled to retire from Gilbane construction at the end of this year. He was a devoted husband, father and loyal friend to many. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Cashner Funeral Home, from 3:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Garden Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his sons and grandchild Andres Mendiola IV, and godson Rudy Vasquez. You are invited to leave written condolences at www.
