Anita Baker Marchione was reunited with her heavenly family on July 6, 2017, just shy of her 91st birthday. Anita was born July 26, 1926 in Providence, Kentucky to James Baker and Stacey Booth Baker. She graduated from Providence High School and soon after moved from Providence to Detroit, Michigan with her family. Anita attended Detroit City College for two years and then went to work in the office of the Detroit Lions Football team. It was here she developed her first love of becoming a lifelong football fan. She met and married Francisco "Frank" Marchione in Detroit in 1946. They started a life together and strived for new opportunities. With opportunity came relocation. Anita dutifully uprooted their young family as they moved from Detroit to Longview, Texas. Anita became very involved with the Mobberly Ave Baptist Church in Longview. Both Anita and Frank loved to bowl. Both won the Senior Olympics in bowling twice. In 1990 Anita and Frank made their final move to Montgomery, Texas, to their home on Lake Conroe. They were married just two weeks shy of 60 years. Anita took great pride in being a committed house wife and home maker. On this path, she continued to develop the mainstays of her faith and family. In each new community she brought a Baptist church into our lives. Her love of the Bible kept her in continuous Bible studies everywhere she lived. Anita Baker Marchione was predeceased by her parents, five brothers, her husband, and son Gary. She is survived by her daughter, Francie Willis and her husband Mike and her son John Cox, and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Marchione as well as grandchildren Tamara Leak, Ty Marchione and Kelley Marchione, Michael Willis, Jr., Mark Willis and wife Dawn, Deborah Willis Tatham, and Avery Burton. Great-grandchildren include; Brooke Willis, Keaton Leak, Allison Willis, Grayson Leak, Brittany Willis, Ciera Willis, Trevor Willis, Jake Willis, Sophia Marchione and Drake Marchione. Out of town family members include; Molly and Bobby Arp, Frank and Mary Marchione, Johanne and Frank Canu, Anita Malcolm and Sharon Hall. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas. 77303. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 12:00pm at First Montgomery Baptist Church, 20423 Eva St. (Also known as hwy. 105), Montgomery, Texas 77356, with Reverend Chris Gober presiding. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to First Montgomery Baptist Church in Anita's memory.
