Annie Mae Walker passed away on September 2, 2014 in Corpus Christi, where she had been living for the past 12 years. A former longtime resident of Conroe, she was born in Keenan, Texas on August 9, 1915 to Arthur Harvey Curry and Jennie Edna Curry. She is survived by her two children, James Kenneth Walker of Alice and Pamela Ann Smith of Kingsville and was "Granny" to seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The second oldest of ten children, she is survived by two sisters, Julia Treadway of Austin and Frances Lanier of Alvin and many nieces and nephews. While in Conroe, she was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked in the business office of the hospital, where she later served as a volunteer. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00PM Saturday at Metcalf Funeral Directors September 6, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Metcalf Funeral Home on Sunday, September 7 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at County Line Cemetery.
