He was born in Houston, Texas into the family of Rufus and Christine Griffin on November 16, 1941, passing into the everlasting arms of his lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the age of seventy at home in Willis, Texas.

Known to his friends as Hank Tony, he is remembered best and enjoyed playing guitar and singing Hank Williams songs to his family and friends at special events, parties and family gatherings. He was no stranger to hard work and long hours working to provide for his family. He retired from Foleys after 27 years in 2004.

In 1970, he built his home in Spring, Texas and raised his daughters there. He was an active participant in all of his daughters' interests including football dance team, swim team and girl scouts camping.

Tony was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Nathan and Kenneth.

He is survived by daughter Jo Carol and husband Chris, daughter Linda and husband Bobby, daughter Joyce and husband Andy, daughter Merrylyn and husband Tim, grandchildren: Aaron Coker, Talesha Stevenson, Russell, Josh and Sean Gandy, Amanda Lavers, Ashely Coker and Catrina and Austin Baird, great grandchildren: Riley Wallace, Madison and Taylor Coker and Veronica Stevenson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, TX.
