She was born in Rogers, Texas on January 7, 1932 & was preceded in death by both parents, 2 sisters & 2 brothers.

Survived by; brother Lee Ray & wife Lillie Clinard, sister Christine & husband Wallace Turner; 3 daughters; Glenda & Clyde Mahan of Animas, New Mexico, Nancy & Larry Jowers of Montgomery Texas, Sharon & Ross Roberson of Pasadena, Texas.

Artie was blessed with one grandson, three granddaughters, & six great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Artie Ruth grew up in Rogers and married at age 15 to the girls' daddy, Clarence Brown. The family lived in various cities until they settled down in Pasadena. After 20 yrs they divorced and she married Ray Daniels. After Ray's death she moved to Houston near Nancy and eventually remarried a childhood friend, Kenneth Lanham. Artie and Kenneth were married nearly 20 years before his death in 2007.

She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in approx. 1995 and continued to live next door to Nancy where she was able to care for Artie. She was admitted into the Conroe hospital at the end of 2011, and was then moved to the Navasota Nursing Home where she celebrated her 80th birthday on Jan. 7, 2012.

Artie loved baseball and attended many Astros' games, but her FIRST love was for the Lord and her family! She was a faithful member of the Pasadena Church of God and later The Lone Star Cowboy Church in Montgomery.

Artie passed away on March 4, 2012 of a cranial hemorrhage. She is now celebrating eternal life with her new pain free body & a life of unmatched love! Her wish was that EVERYONE she has ever known would join her some day, by their faith in our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ!

Service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home 20850 Eva St. (Hwy 105) in Montgomery Texas. (No grave side service afterwards.) Officiating - Brother Brian Domingues of Lone Star Cowboy Church.
