Barbara Carswell Hyland, 64, passed away on July 21, 2016 at her home with her husband by her side.

Barbara was born March 19, 1952 in Houston, Texas. Her parents moved to Conroe in 1953, where she resided for the most part of her life.

Barbara and her husband, Chris, were team drivers for 15 years until they decided to retire from trucking. She became a very devoted School Bus Driver for the Conroe ISD for many years. She also studied and received her CNA. She was a devoted Care-taker of her mother, along with her husband, Chris, until her mother's passing in 2011.

Preceding her in death was her father, O. B. Burns; her mother, Florine H. Burns, brother, Ronald Eugene Carswell; and step-sister, Wanda Burns Rusch.

Mrs. Hyland left behind her beloved husband, Christopher Hyland of 24 years; brothers Kenneth Carswell and wife Darnell of Hemet, California; James Carswell and wife Margie of Conroe; Sam Carswell of Grapeland; and Kirk Burns of Austin. She also left behind one sister, Betty Carswell Webb and husband Don of Grapeland. She also left behind many family members and loving friends. She loved all her family and friends very much.

She loved her Lord so very much and loved attending church. Her health stopped her from attending very many places at the end of her struggle with Leukemia. She fought a good fight all the way until the end. She will truly be missed.

Her "Going Home Celebration" will be August 13, 2016 at 3:00pm. It will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 140 Beach Airport Rd/corner of FM 3083, in Conroe, Texas.

Her ashes will be buried at the Webb Family Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas.
