Barbara "Bobbye" June Aldridge, 82, of Conroe, TX was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 25, 2017. Barbara was born May 1, 1934 to Erma Lou Rancher and Jeff Lee Davis in Waco, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Curtis Aldridge as well as her parents and six siblings: Kathleen Reed, Irene Hatter, Merle Goossensen, Jeff Lee Davis Jr., Billy Gene Davis, and Ralph Davis. She is survived by her daughters Donna Ivy & husband Dennis Ivy of Huntsville, Janna Buchanan of Conroe, Lori Day & husband Daryl Day of Montgomery; her grandchildren Jarrod Ivy, Leslie Driggers, Katelyn Butler, Jessica Weiss, Jamie Buchanan, and Timothy Day; 14 great-grandchildren; special cousin, Carolyn Pool; 2 sisters-in-law, Marie Davis and Faye Edge; several nieces and nephews; and numerous close family friends.

Barbara met her husband Curtis over 60 years ago, while both were working for Safeway in Waco. After which, they moved from Waco to Rockdale, TX for 4 years before finally settling in Conroe, TX in 1969. She stayed home with her children for some time but eventually went to work for Conroe ISD. She remained with the school district for 17 years before retiring to spend time with her family and to care for her husband. Barbara and Curtis spent their many good years enjoying their children and grandchildren. She absolutely lived for her family. She said her eldest daughter really took great care of her and her father all her life and that she was so blessed to have her and as well as her younger daughters.

Barbara had a fiery personality that left a lasting impression on all who met her. While she was strong-willed and opinionated, she was equally caring and compassionate. She enjoyed being outside working in her garden and visiting with her family and friends in her home. When her children were young, they spent time together in the summers by traveling in their RV and camping. She was a vivacious woman whose presence will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30 th , from 6:00-8:00 PM at Conroe Funeral Directors, in Conroe. A Chapel funeral service will be held Friday, March 31 st , at 10:30 AM with a graveside interment immediately following at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, TX.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Mixi Grande-Fernandez who took special care of her following Curtis' death, as well as family friends Don Whitmore, Hershel Short, and Tom Willis.
