Barbara Attaya, cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, passed away in Conroe, Texas on September 8, 2012. She was born on January 9, 1933 to the late Charles and Frances Campbell of Picayune, Mississippi. She is predeceased by her beloved brother and sister, Charlie and Mary Frances. Remaining to celebrate her life are Moses, her loving husband of sixty-one years, and their children: Sam (Lorri) Attaya, Stephen (Rindy) Attaya, Mary Attaya Burton, Kim (Valerie) Attaya, Barbara Elaine (Brad) Leesman and Susan (Jerry) Strawser; grandchildren: Kent (Carly), Lanae (Jared),Robert (Corinne), Chad (Natalie), Jon (Sarah), K.C. (Leah), Eric, Clay (Jane), Amy (Greg), Meghan, Madeline, Reed, Riley and Lauren; thirteen great- grandchildren and many treasured nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends. Barbara endeared herself to all who knew her through her selflessness and her love for family and friends. Her Christian faith defined her; she lived out that faith as she lovingly embraced her calling as wife and mother. The family expresses special thanks to caregivers Linda, Margo, and Melony, as well as Shelley, Brenda, Connie, Claudia and all the nurses and staff of Odyssey Hospice for the love and care they provided to Barbara and her family. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park in The Woodlands, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, TX, 77384. A private entombment for the family will be held the following morning. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 4308 W. Davis Street, Conroe, TX, 77304.
