B.C. (Bertha) Heines, loving mother and wife, died of lung failure after battling lung cancer on Wednesday at St. Luke's Hospital in The Woodlands at the age of 58.

B.C. was born April 28, 1959 in San Augustine, Texas, to Nella Bea Chambers and Tim Chambers. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, George Raymond Heines Jr., her two children Tessa Evelyn Heines and George Raymond Heines III, her sister Gail Sparks, and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving in-laws and friends. B.C. grew up in East Texas in the Pineland area until graduating high school when moved temporarily to Beaumont before moving to Houston. She met her husband, George, and they lived in the Houston area for 5 years before moving to the Montgomery area. They have resided in Conroe for the last 10 years.

B.C. graduated from West Sabine High School in Pineland, Texas in 1977. She then went briefly to Stephen F Austin for business. She continued her education with accounting classes to support her career. She has been the bookkeeper/office manager for multiple business in the Houston and Conroe area, including American Shooting Centers and Milstead Service Center.

B.C. was a member of Sacred Heart Parish for 24 years and was very active with Sacred Heart School while her children attended. Her love and passion for reading lead B.C. to become an accomplished writer under the name Bess George with two books, Happily Never After and Family Illusions. During her illness she was unable to complete the third novel she had been writing. She was a member of Romance Writers of America and North West Houston Romance Writers of America.

There will be a visitation at Metcalf Funeral Directors on Monday February 26, 2018 from 6-8 pm with a rosary starting at 7. The funeral service will be Tuesday February 27, 2018 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, TX officiated by Father Phillip. There will be a gravesite burial following that service at Garden Park Cemetery located at E Park Drive in Conroe, TX.
