Betty Louise King, 81, and John Charles King, 84 both passed away at Conroe Regional Medical Center. Betty passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 9:23pm and Johnny passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017, at 1:50pm. Betty and Johnny shared a love that endured multiple deployments to Vietnam and bases around the world. There was a connection that time and distance could not and would not tear them apart. They now continue their journey together.

Betty and Johnny would often be seen sitting on their porch greeting neighbors as they would pass by. Johnny fed his squirrels and enjoyed watching them scamper through their trees. Johnny was an avid deer hunter, and he and Betty spent many weekends at Dean Creek Hunting Lodge. They both enjoyed the outdoors working in their flower beds. When Johnny was diagnosed with Parkinson's, Betty's entire life became caring for Johnny, protecting him from falls and enjoying each day to its fullest.

Betty and Johnny were both high school graduates. Betty stayed home and cared for their home and cared for their daughter Jo Anna and son Jack. Johnny gave twenty years to the military. He returned from the Air Force as a Blue Beret, technical Sergeant. He worked for Owens Corning, where he invented the retrofit underground storage tank. Betty donated time to the Crisis Action Hotline.

We would like to thank Dr. Kyle Scarborough and Jerrilynn for their love and dedication to my parents. My parents thought the world of them, and so do we. John, director of nurses, at Conroe Regional Medical Center, and all of the wonderful nurses; "thank you for the love and care you showed my parents". We will miss them immensely.

Betty and Johnny are survived by their daughter, Jo Anna Alvarez and husband Ken, son, Jack King, grandchild, Matt Alvarez and fiancée Andee Aulbaugh. Numerous friends also survive.
