Betty Jean Guthrie, previously of Montgomery, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2015 after a life well lived. She leaves behind a legacy of family and friends who loved her dearly and who will miss her every day. Betty was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, August 13, 1924, to J.T. and Amy Walter, the youngest of their four children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Wayne B. Guthrie, and her son, Gary W. Guthrie, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Gayle Tourville, of Austin, Texas, and her son, Gregory N. Guthrie and daughter in law Dona Roberts, of Lago Vista, Texas. Her grandchildren, Brandeaux and Vincent Tourville, Lauren and Matthew Guthrie. Her great grandson, Beau Tourville, many nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends. Betty attended public schools in Oklahoma City and graduated from SMU. She was a member of April Sound Church and a 3rd generation, 50 year plus member of the PEO. She was a wonderful wife, mother, great grandmother, and friend. Her devotion and care for her family was unmatched. She will be missed by all who knew her and forever by her family. Chapel service will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at the Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
