Billy Boy Arledge, 86, of Austin, TX, passed away on Monday, December 30th, 2013 after a serious illness. Billy was born January 1st, 1927 in Chilton, TX to William D. Arledge and Bernice Sallis. He spent most of his early life in Chilton where he attended high school.

In the early 1950s Billy joined the Merchant Marine where he experienced the world while working in exotic locations. He kissed the Blarney Stone, traversed the Suez Canal, and visited Australia during his travels.

Billy enjoyed working with his hands and was an expert plumber, electrician, and carpenter. He put those skills to use when he joined the UTMB in Galveston, TX in 1952. He remained there for 36 years, retiring in 1988. He then moved to Conroe, TX, and later to Austin where he spent his final years at the Conservatory at Wells Branch.

Billy is survived by sons William David Arledge and wife Maria of Austin and David Foster Donaldson and wife Rita of LaMarque, TX s as well as four grandchildren, Greg, Nick, Terry and Susan. He is also survived by his sister Peggy Spradley, of McGregor, TX.

Graveside services will be held Friday January 3, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery located at 18000 I 45 The Woodlands Texas 77384
