Billy Rayne Rogers passed away peacefully at his home on August 25, 2014 with his family by his side after a lengthily illness. He was born on February 26, 1940 in Livingston, Texas to Elam Rayne Rogers and Lorena Stokes.

After serving in the Air Force in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he moved to Conroe, Texas where he met his wife of 55 years, Eunice Kuykendall Rogers, making their home in Montgomery, Texas. They were married August 22, 1959.

He worked as project manager for Walden on Lake Conroe during its development stage and in 1975 became a deputy sheriff, working under Sheriff A.E. Gene Reaves. This was the beginning of a 30 year career in law enforcement, serving under three sheriffs. He retired in 2001 while serving under Sheriff Guy Williams. Billy also has great respect and shares a special friendship with current Sheriff Tommy Gage. He always felt it was an honor and privilege to wear his badge and uniform, bringing only integrity to his job.

Billy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eunice Rogers of Huntsville, Texas; mother Lorena Simonton of Huntsville, Texas; daughter Kathy Rogers Barrett and husband William of Montgomery, Texas, daughter Cindy Rogers of Wenches, Texas; granddaughter Courtney Solomon and husband Bryan of Montgomery, Texas; grandson Rayne Barrett of Shreveport, Louisiana, grandson Jared Glenn of Addison, Texas; great-grandson Luke Rhyan Solomon of Montgomery, Texas; brother Bobby Joe Rogers of Flynn, Texas; step-brother Duane Donahoe and wife Frances of Flynn, Texas; "Bonus" daughter Mitzy Camp; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Dan Lafferty, Brian Dubose, Marshall Williams, Randy Campbell, Winky Enlow and Frank Kimball Jr. Honorary pallbearers are George Frost, Donnie Sorenson, Rayne Barrett, Jared Glenn, William Barrett and Sheriff Tommy Gage.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Montgomery County Sheriff Office Employee Scholarship Fund, Attn. Patti Warren County Judges Offices, 501 North Thompson, Conroe, Texas 77301 in memory of Lieutenant Billy Rayne Rogers.

Visitation will be held on August 29, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park Drive, Huntsville, Texas. Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 10:00 in the morning at Second Baptist Church, 2517 Sam Houston Ave, Huntsville, Texas, with burial at Bethel Cemetery in Montgomery, Texas. A reception will be held at Dacus Baptist Church immediately after graveside service. Pastor Gary Garrison and Pastor Robert Nichols presiding.
