Bobby Joe Wells, 82, of Conroe, Texas, passed from this life Wednesday March 9, 2016 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

He was born December 5, 1933 in Huntsville, Texas to Cornelius and Willie Wells. He proudly served our country in The United States Navy and served on the battle ship USS PCE 874 BM3. Bobby graduated from Huntsville High School and was voted most handsome student his senior year. Bobby was a longtime resident of Conroe and attended the Mims Baptist Church for over 20 years. He retired from Texaco / Chevron Chemical as a purchasing agent. Over his lifetime Bobby enjoyed to rodeo and calf rope. Bobby was a Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed playing golf and had a love and a gift for the guitar. He was known to live a modest lifestyle and along with his wife Joyce they filled their home with love.

Bobby was preceded in death by his best friend and loving wife Joyce Ann Wells; his parents; and his brother JB Wells. He leaves behind his son, Ritchie Wells and wife Stephanie; daughters, Donna Males and husband Brian, Pam Elliott and husband Larry; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Nora Ann Edwards; cousins, Stanley Paul Short and family, James Bell and family; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, and he will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday March 14, 2016, in Conroe Memorial Park. Service will be officiated by Pastor Gene Kendrick of Mims Baptist Church and under the direction of McNutt Funeral Home.
