Funeral services for Max Gregory Hightower, 73, of Tatum, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the Rader Funeral Chapel in Henderson with Rev. Trey Roberson officiating. Burial will be in TatumCemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.

Mr. Hightower died Monday, September 10, 2012, in a LongviewHospital.

He was born February 28, 1939 in Tatum, Texas to Rollie and Era Hightower. He was a Marine, a fisherman, a guitar picker, an accomplished musician and a member of the First Baptist Church of Tatum.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Katherine Jones Hightower, brothers and sisters; Sallie Hightower, Paul Hightower, Virgil Hightower, Jackie Neal Hightower and Darwin Hightower.

Surviving are his daughters, Brooke Camp and husband Darren of Tatum, and Niki Garcia and husband David of Denton; grandchildren, Ryan Mitchell of Dallas, Jennifer Garcia and Jessica Garcia, both of Dallas, Colten Camp, Kaylee Camp and Kate Camp of Tatum, a great-grandchild Braxton Longoria, brothers and sisters; Barbara Quinn, Johnnie Hightower, Mavis Freeman, Jo Anna Burns, and Mary Sue Grisham. Pallbearers will be Mike Simpson, Kelly Simpson, Marjay Grisham, Kenneth Ross, Jimmy Teal and James Baker.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Rader Funeral Home of Henderson from 6 to 8 PM.
