Carl James Falivene, 88, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2015 in The Woodlands, Texas. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Carl was a shining example of a life well lived, governed by a great love for his family, his Catholic faith and his professional commitment to student-athletes as coach, mentor and friend. Carl was born in Schenectady, New York and attended high school at Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, New York where he excelled academically and in football & baseball. Although offered a contract with the New York Yankees and an appointment to West Point, after High School, Carl went on to play football at Notre Dame University for legendary coach Frank Leahy. After graduation and service in the US Army, he became an accomplished football coach at Holy Name High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Ultimately Carl was inducted into the Ohio Football Hall of Fame. Later Carl moved on to coach at several universities in a 47 year coaching career.

Carl was pre-deceased by his oldest of five sons Carl (Chip) Falivene (Denise) of Strongsville OH. and is survived by his remarkable wife of 63 years Ann (Kelly), sons Tom (Jackie) of Denver Co., Mike of Dallas, NC., Steve (Susan) of Topsfield, MA. Rob (Sally) of The Woodlands TX, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Carl will be greatly missed by all who knew him and revered for setting the high standard to which we all aspire.

A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7801 Bay Branch Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77385.
