Carolyn Joy Evins, 93, of Conroe passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 with her loving family who has been by her side. Carolyn was born on July 25, 1924 in Humble, Texas to Clarence W and Mary Elizabeth Ambrose. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all she met. She was a native Texan, but during her life she lived all over the United States including many years on a hog farm in southeast Missouri where she made lifelong friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, John W "Bill" Evins JR, her daughter Joy Lee Robinson and son-in-law Stanton Robinson, her brother Clarence W Ambrose JR and niece Ruth Zarzemski. She is survived by her daughter, Lindsey Kay Evins, her two granddaughters, Gina Lee and husband, John Lee an-d Aimee Elizabeth Evins, three great granddaughters, Hunter Joy Lee, Kara Michelle Lee and Kaylee Joy Evins, her sister-in-law, Janie Lee Van Dyke, four nieces, one nephew, twelve great nieces and nephews and twenty-two great-great nieces and nephews. She will join her husband at the Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 11:00am. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to her special care givers Keith Gaines and Hazra Khan and her loving friend Heather Coker.
