Carroll Walker Sartin of Shenandoah, Texas went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on May 16, 2015. Carroll was born May 19, 1934 in Eggleston, Virginia to James and Gertie Sartin. Carroll attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He met Gladys Francis Fitts, a native Houstonian, who was living in Yokohama, Japan with her parents while her father served in a civilian capacity. After leaving the military, Carroll moved to Houston to marry Gladys; a marriage of almost 59 years. Carroll was deeply devoted to his Christian faith, wife and children. He enjoyed gardening, reading and a good political debate.

Carroll is survived by his wife Gladys, daughter, Carolyn Moore, son, Wayne Sartin, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Carroll was preceded in death by his son, James Sartin. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.

Services begin with visitation at 10:00 am followed by a celebration of his life at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Crossview Church located at 5148 FM 1488. The family invites friends to join them in a graveside service that same day at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, Texas at 2:00 pm. Carroll's struggle with Parkinson's may be honored with donations in his memory to the Houston Area Parkinson Society (www.hapsonline.org) in lieu of flowers.
