The Guest Book is expired.

With God and dad at her side, mom fearlessly stood, faced and fought cancer; until her lord told her the battle is done, it is time to come home. With comforts of home, surrounded by all of her babies and with the love of her life at her side, the lord called Cathy Martinez age 53 of Willis Texas, home November 28, 2017.

Mom and dad married at the young age of 15 and 17, a beautiful 38 years. "We have the purest of love, the kind that lasts a lifetime; then you wait until you see her again." I watched in amazement as my dad stood strong in his faith, when so many would have failed.

We, her children, were blessed to experience two of Gods' greatest creations, mom, dad and the love they continue to share. Her children always came first. If I had to choose one word to explain my mom, that word would be, good". That's a simple word but a powerful one. She didn't judge, her home and heart were always open to anyone. Her love and kindness made a difference in so many lives.

Material items held no value for mom. Her family was her greatest joy and accomplishment. She liked her bingo and boy was she lucky. She took pleasure in watching her babies play and hearing them bust through the door and ask, "what you cook Maw Maw?" Enjoyed riding her bike with dad, walking her pup down the road. She appreciated and enjoyed the simple things in life, the stuff so many are too rushed in life and over look.

Mom, Maw Maw, you are already sorely missed but you have waited a long time to see you dad. What a glorious moment it must have been to see both of your fathers. Don't worry all your babies are going to be ok. Your love is great enough to last a lifetime and to the moon and stars and back. They know Maw Maw is only a prayer and thought away.

Cathy is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Wedgeworth and her brothers James Sumrall and Johnny Curtis Reeves.

She is survived by her mother; Virginia Copeland, her loving husband Paul Martinez, sister; Jessica Sumrall, children; Paul Martinez, Jr. and wife DeZ, Angel Martinez, and Paula Ramos and husband T.J., grandchildren, Tony Ramos and Colt Ramos, Lilly Martinez, Rylee Martinez and Jaycee Martinez and a host of other beloved family and friends. Pall bearers will be P.J., T.J., Wade, Jared, Bug, Nick and J.J.
