Cecilia 'Sue' de Jaham Luecke was born December 11, 1923 in New Orleans, La. to George and Cecilia de Jaham. She attended St. Ann ' s Catholic school through high school and later worked at the New Orleans Fruit Exchange where she met and married Bill Luecke at St. John Lutheran Church by Bill ' s father, O. William Luecke, Sr. Sue & Bill were married for 51 years and in their last years together resided in Kingwood, TX and were members of Christ the King Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bill Luecke, in 1994 and her 3 rd daughter, Cecilia (Doick) Kelly in 2000. She is survived by daughters: Pam Chinske and husband, Johnny, of Missoula, Montana; Dianne Raef and husband, Stuart, of Flatonia, TX;third son-in-law,Joseph Kelly, Jadi Meyer and husband, Dan, of Kingwood, TX; Chelle Wallis andhusband, John, of Arlington, TX, 7 grandchildren, John Chinske & Holly, Tony Lazarine & Pamela, Jami Chinske Bell & John, Levi Meyer & Alex, Dani Meyer, Courtney Wallis, Grayson Wallis, a step-great grandson, Stone Baulch, a great granddaughter, Harper Chinske, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored. Her sister, who was also her best friend in life, Marie Strassel of Covington, La, survives her.

Cecilia Marguerite de Jaham Luecke received an invitation to the Biggest Birthday Party for Jesus Christ on Christmas Day, 2015 at the age of 92. Sue never liked to miss a party so she went peacefully to be with Jesus.

Her final resting place will be at the Houston National Cemetery next to her husband, Rev. O. Wm. Luecke, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lutheran Hour or Lutheran World Relief.
