Funeral services to celebrate the life of Charles E. Bodenstedt will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 12:30pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel with visitation beginning at 11:30am. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Charles was born February 8, 1925 in in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles E. Bodenstedt, SR. and Ella A. Bodenstedt and passed away at the age of 89 on April 30, 2014 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Soldan High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Washington University in St. Louis and earned his BSBA degree. Charles proudly serviced in the U.S. Navy in WW II and Korean conflict. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Charles was a former Eagle Scout and Troop leader. Charles was also a founding member of St. Vincent De Paul, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 1986 and a twenty four year volunteer. In 1986, after 38 years of service, Charles retired from Shell Oil Co. After retirement, he enjoyed golf, fishing and traveling. He was a long time member and former Treasurer of the Panorama Country Club and a member of the Panorama Lions Club. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Bodenstedt and Ella A. Bodenstedt. He is survived by his wife, Tavia (Toby), sons, Ron Bodenstedt and Jim Bodenstedt and his wife Pamela and Paul Therrien and his wife Janice; daughter, Marcia Cremin;Lu Caltagirone and her husband Tom; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
