Graveside services for Charles Eugene Sargent of Conroe, Texas will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Blue Springs cemetery in Etoile, Texas with military honors. The Rev. Ray Hyden will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Conroe Funeral Directors from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Mr. Sargent was born on March 23, 1926 in Etoile, Texas to James Eugene Sargent and Lydia Ophelia (Atkinson) Sargent. He passed away peacefully on September 17, 2017 in Conroe at the age of 91. Charles grew up in Etoile but over the years lived and raised his family in Houston and Conroe. Charles proudly served his country in the Army during World War II and was a Bronze star medal recipient (European Theater of Operations).

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lydia Sargent; brothers, James "Pete" Sargent, Llyod "Curly" Sargent, Clinton "Mann" Sargent; and his daughter, Bonnie Rhodes. Charles is survived by his loving family: wife of 63 years, Rhama Ann Sargent; son, Bennie and wife, Kathy Whitworth; daughter, Linda and husband, Harold Carraway; son, Everett and wife, Cheryl Sargent; grandchildren, Don and wife, Wendy Sargent, Christy and husband, D.E. Tims, Nina Sargent, Amanda and husband, Cliff Baltrip and Chuck Carraway; numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.

Pallbearers: Roger Sargent, Harold Carraway, Chuck Carraway, D.E. Tims, Cluade Williams and James Alvis. Honorary: Billy Goodwin, Kenny Jones and Jeff Sargent.
