Anyone who knew Mom/Mimi knew how important her faith was to her. As her family, we grieve the loss of our Mother; but as Christians, we know we will get to see her again.

Today, September 1, 2015 was not the last day of her life, rather a new beginning. Mom is up in Heaven right now, seeing her baby daughter, son, husband and many others who passed away before her. Mom was proud of her children but even more proud of her grandchildren; she beamed every time she spoke of them. Even posting notices on her office door when each grandchild was born. You didn't have to be a blood relative for mom to consider you one of her "kids". The years she spent at Texas A&M University Engineering Dept. provided many surrogate kids who looked up to her as a mother.

Survivors include: sons and daughter in laws, Paul and Jeannie Sims of Willis, Texas, Jared and Joanne Sims of Richards, Texas, daughter and son in law, Mary and Joe Garcia of Richards, Texas, daughter in law, Shelia Sims of Lone Grove, OK, grandchildren, Brian and Virginia Sims of League City, Texas, Joshua Sims of Conroe, Texas, Garrett and Allison Sims of Huntsville, Texas, Allison "Alli" Garcia, of Montgomery, Texas, Bryce Benjamin and Skylar Arnold of Richards, Texas, Scott and Steven Sims of Colfax, LA; and T.J. Soos and Christine Soos both of College Station, Texas; great grandson, Gavin Garza of League City, Texas; sister and brother in law, Reta and Larry Nelson and brother, Warren "Rink" Cranford, all of Richards, Texas, Nieces, Kim Cranford and Jessie Daricek of Mullin, Texas, Jennifer and husband Scott Pelczar of Conroe, Texas and surrogate daughters, Laura Warren of Montgomery, Texas and Crystal Conner of Richards, Texas. The family would like to thank Scott and White Hospital for the quality of care mom received throughout her illnesses, to Dr. Mark English for always being a breath of fresh air and truly caring about his patients, and to Guardian Health Care for always having Mom's best interest at heart.

In honor of our Mother, we request you not wear black to the visitation or funeral, instead wear something with bright color (s). As many of you knew, Mom loved color....the brighter the better and sometimes with big flowers!
